DESCRIPTION: “The Aran Islands have some of the finest prehistoric and early Christian antiquities in Europe, including Dun Aengus.  This vast castle is situated on the summit of a hill which rises precipitously from the ocean to a height of 300 feet.”  Dun Aonghasa (Aengus) is the best-known of several prehistoric hill forts on the Aran Islands in County Galway.  It lies on Inis Mor, at the edge of a 300-foot cliff.  A popular tourist attraction, Dun Aonghassa is an important archaeological site.  The back of card is written in Irish and English, which matches the order in which the dialects are spoken.
