Early Vintage Sheet Metal Slip Roll Forming Machine
The following are my observations and comments, but please reference the pictures and ask questions to make your own assessment.
I am selling this slip roller for a friend. My friend tells me that this tool was originally owned by a sheet metal worker/designer of some note in the Portland, Oregon area. His son (born 1922-23?) sold the machine along with his business and other sheet metal shop equipment to my friend in 1988, and told my friend that the machine was hand made (by his dad?) (my friend tells me that no documentation is available, and he has no way of proving the original ownership, or that it was hand made).
This slip roll forming machine is sold as is.
The roller width (maximum material width?) is 11-3/4", and the groove for rolling rod diameters are 3/16", 1/4", and 5/16".
Please note that the original owner's initials (RAH) are stamped in the top of the tail end frame.
Although this unit forms the material well (see the pictured samples), I have observed (in the case of a heavy gauge steel ruler) where the rear forming roller does not always roll with the material, and unless coaxed, the material may slide over this roller.
This slip roll forming machine will be shipped in the wooden box pictured, and hopefully the box will survive the shipment and can be used to store the unit.
    Approximate overall measurements: 24-1/4" x 10" x 10-1/4"
Total Weight (not including box):  43.62 lbs.
