Chrome Continental-sized postcard (approx. 4x6) with an aerial view of the
Blacksod
lighthouse in County Mayo, Ireland, with green shore.

Caption on back reads,
"Blacksod, Co. Mayo
No: 57A in the Irish Lighthouse Series
Plans for the lighthouse submitted Sept. 1863, approved a month
later. Built using granite, brought to site on a tramway system from local
quarry. The light was first est. 30th June 1866. Converted to unwatched
1931. Towards the end of 1969 it became the helicopter base for
lighthouses Blackrock & Eagle Island. (See nos. 59 and 60 in the series)
