    Description

Vintage Continental-sized (approx. 4x6) postcard showing Blarney Castle, home to the famous
    Blarney Stone,
in County Cork, Ireland, and the nearby river that served as a moat.
Front caption reads, "BLARNEY CASTLE IRELAND".
Back caption reads, "BLARNEY CASTLE: Situated 7 km from Cork City,
the Castle is famous for its Stone, which has the traditional power of conferring eloquence
on all who kiss it. The word 'Blarney' has found its way into the English language and has been
described as pleasant talk, intended to deceive without
    offending. The famous Stone is
set in the wall below the battlements
and, to kiss it, one has to lean backwards (grasping an iron
    railing) from the parapet walk."
Card No. 2/CK 25 published by John Hinde Ltd.
Split back; used, postmarked Droichead na Banda 1998 and mailed to Holland.
Good condition, with use. See photos.
