Description
Vintage Continental-sized (approx. 4x6) chrome postcard with a view of the Italian Gardenson Garinish Island in Bantry Bay near Glengarriff, County Cork, Ireland.
Unusual view with Sugarloaf in the background.
Back caption reads, "Garinish Island Gardens, Glengarriff, Co. Cork.
Set in the mouth of Glengarriff's harbour this beautiful little island is accessible
by boat from Glengarriff. It contains some exquisitely laid-out gardens and attractive
woodland, with an old fort and Martello tower dating from the time of Napoleon I.
Glengarriff is set about 17 miles from Kenmare and surrounded by hills, the highest
of which is Sugar Loaf, 1887 feet."
