Description
Vintage Continental-sized (approx. 4x6”) chrome postcard with an interior view ofthe original (revamped) Parish Church where the apparition of the Virgin Mary was seen
at Knock, County Mayo, Ireland.

Front text reads, "Knock Parish Church".
Back caption reads,
"KNOCK SHRINE, CO. MAYO: On 21st August 1879, Our Lady,
St. Joseph and St. John with the Altar the Lamb and the Cross appeared
at the Church Gable in a blaze of heavenly light. A Diocesan Commission accepted
the evidence as 'trustworthy and satisfactory'. Many privileges have been granted
by the Holy See and Knock is recognised as one of the great Marian Shrines.
Over a million pilgrims and invalids come to the Shrine annually from all over the world,
including His Holiness Pope John Paul II who visited the Shrine."
