Description
Vintage Continental-sized (approx. 4x6) chrome postcard with a vertical view of the castle-school-abbeyKylemore Abbey, in the Connemara country of western Ireland's County Galway.
Front title in white and yellow reads, "KYLEMORE ABBEY" and "CONNEMARA - IRELAND".
Back caption reads,
"KYLMORE ABBEY is set in an entrancing vista of mountains, lakes
and woodlands. Its massive walls and flowering foliage are reflected in the waters
of Kylemore Lake famed for its fish. The castlellated towers are sheltered by the slopes
of the Twelve Bens. It is the home of Nuns who belong to the historic Order of St.
Benedict. Their stirring history covers some three centuries. The Abbey High School
for Girls is widely known. During the Summer months, courses in English are open to girl students
from the Continent."

I am spending a few days here with Sr. Benedict. I came on impulse
as I hadn't seen her for nearly two years. Sister is the same as ever. I am trying to see
all my old friends, Srs. Isa, Bernadette, Agnes, etc. The shop is very busy. I
will be intouch as soon as I get home on Sunday. Sr. Bendedict sends regards.
I hope you are well. I still have a cold. Love, Róisín."
