    Vintage 4x6 Contintental chrome view of Bantry Bay and the garden spot of Garinish (sometimes spelled Garnish or Ilnacullin) Island near Glengarriff, West Cork, Ireland.

    Back caption reads, "What sends tourists to the Rhine and Saxon-Switzerland? Within 5 miles of Glengarriff there is a country of the magnificence of which
    no pen can give an idea...Were such a bay lying upon English shores, it would be a world's wonder."
    Thus wrote Thackery of Glengarriff, 'The Craggy Glen'. Though famous as a beauty-spot,
    it remains a scattered unpretentious little village, unspoilt even today. Garnish Island,
    guarding the little land-locked harbour, is laid out as a fairy-tale garden, and seals disport themselves among the rocks."
