    Description

Vintage Continental-sized (approx. 4x6) postcard with a view of the ivy-laced battlements of Blarney Castle
    in County Cork, Ireland.
The famous "Blarney Stone" is set in the tower wall just above the window, where a red spot/square can be seen.
Front caption reads, "Battlements, showing Blarney Stone, Blarney Castle, Co. Cork, Ireland."
    Back caption reads,
"BLARNEY CASTLE. Situated five miles from Cork City, the castle
is famous for its Stone, which has the traditional power of conferring eloquence
on all who kiss it. The word 'Blarney' means pleasant talk, intended to deceive
without offending. The battlements crowning the castle keep are typically Irish in form.
Below them is set in the wall the famous Stone, and, to kiss it, one has to lean backwards
(grasping an iron railing) from the parapet walk of the battlements."
Card No. 2/191 published by John Hinde Ltd., Cabinteely.
    Split back; unused.
Good condition with a smudge in the stamp box. See photos.
Ships securely in a protective plastic holder.
