    Description

Continental-sized (approx. 4x6) chrome postcard with a view of Bunratty Castle
framed by trees. The castle and its folk park are tourist destinations at the Clare/Limerick border,
    near Shannon Airport, in Ireland.
Front caption reads, "Bunratty Castle, Co. Clare, Ireland."
    Back caption reads,
"BUNRATTY CASTLE, CO. CLARE: All over Ireland there are impressive reminders
of a long and robust history - pre-historic forts, strongholds, mediaeval castles,
picturesque abbeys and monasteries. Bunratty, ten miles from Limerick City, is one of the
largest of the towered fortresses in Ireland. It was built by the McNamaras of Thomond
in the 15th Century. It has been completely restored and furnished in the style of the period,
so that it is one of the most interesting examples of mediaeval times to be found today."
Card No. 2/1822 published by John Hinde, Ltd., Dublin 18.
Split back; used, postmarked 1987 (place illegible), and mailed to the USA.
    Inked note reads,
    "July 8-87
    Dear Leah,
    All is well here -
This castle is where we had our Medieval banquet
last nite. Ready to take off. Don't leave here til 9:30. Take care.
