Description
Vintage white-bordered, Continental-sized (approx. 4x6) postcard showingthe stronghold of Bunratty Castle, with a yellow Durty Nelly's pub in the foreground,
along with a stone bridge.
Front caption reads, "Bunratty Castle, Co. Clare, Ireland".
Back caption reads,
"BUNRATTY CASTLE, CO. CLARE: Situated between Shannon
Airport and Limerick, 10 miles from the latter, Bunratty Castle is the largest
and finest example of the medieval towered fortresses of Ireland. Built in the 15th
century by the O'Briens of Thomond, descendants of the great King Brian Boru,
the Castle has now been completely restored and furnished in the style of its period.
The unique apartments of the Castle, with their fine collection of medieval furniture,
paintings, tapestries, etc. are now open to the public."

"June 21 Dublin Thurs- This is 'Dirty Nellies' where we went with Bill & Pam.
Packed in like sardines. Went to fisit Fr Horgans people - met nuns from St Lukes
as we were chicking....took them to Jurys and Abbey Tavern for the ...& show. They'll
never get over it. Got 6 letters yesterday & were we thrilled. Thanks loads glad to hear
all the news - Weather is perfect along with us & hu? Had a drink & toasted you
last nite for the bank dinner. Thanks again & much love Frank & Eileen".
