CHRIST CHURCH CATHEDRAL, DUBLIN:
One of the finest of the city's historic buildings, it stands on the high ground
at the western end of Lord Edward Street. The original building was replaced by
a great new cathedral founded by Strongbow in 1172, and took fifty years to build.
The cathedral is a very handsome pile with little exterior decoration. The interior is very beautiful,
displaying magnificent stone work and graceful arches with delicately chiseled
supporting columns."
