view of the islands in the Upper Lake at the Lakes of Killarney, County Kerry, Ireland.

beauty-spots. Poets, painters and writers have never fully succeeded in conveying the varied
beauty of form and colour of this wonderland of mountains and lakes. The three main lakes
lie along a broad valley running through the highest mountains in Ireland and are surrounded
by luxuriant woods of birch, oak and arbutus. There are many old castles and abbeys along
the lake shores and every feature of the district is associated with some legend of the past."
