Back caption reads, "CORK CITY: Founded by St. Finbarr in the 6th century,
Cork has a picturesque continental air, and is one of Ireland's most progressive
centres. Above the houses, rises the strange 'pepperpot' steeple of Shandon Church,
which houses the famous Bells of Shandon 'that sound so grand on the pleasant waters
of the River Lee.' A peculiar feature of the steeple is that the north and east sides
are of red sandstone and the other two of grey limestone."
