    Description

Continental-sized (approx. 4x6) chrome postcard with a view of one of Killarney's
famous jaunting cars at Ross Castle on the Lower Lake, Killarney
    , Ireland.
Front caption reads, "Jaunting Car at Ross Castle, Killarney, Co. Kerry, Ireland."
    Back caption reads,
"ROSS CASTLE, KILLARNEY: This is a beautifully
situated castle ruin. Standing on a wooded peninsula jutting out
into the Lower Lake, its battered walls recall many a stormy page of
history. It was once the home of the O'Donoghue, a great chieftain of Kerry.
In 1652 a dramatic incident occured when the castle was defended by
Lord Muskerry. General Ludlow of the attacking force brought boats overland,
and suprised the garrison by an unexpected attack from the lake."
Card number 2 / 61 published by John Hinde, Ltd., Cabinteely.
