    Kilcredaune lighthouse on the Clare side of the River Shannon estuary, with an ocean-going freighter in the background.

    Sited near Carrigaholt on the Shannon it was built 1854. Present apparatus installed 1931, also made
    unwatched in that year. Lantern truncated 1941. Was converted to electric July 1979. Flashes white every
    6 seconds. 52  34.8N  09  42.5W.
