Description
Vintage Continental-sized (approx. 4x6”) chrome postcard with an aerial view of the townof Killorglin, Kerry, Ireland, home to the annual Puck Fair.
The goat that serves as king of the fair is seen in upper left inset, beneath an Irish flag and shade canopy.
Front caption reads,
"Killorglin, Co. Kerry".
Back caption reads,
“KILLORGLIN is the scene of the famous 'Puck Fair' held annually
during August and usually lasting three days. King Puck, a large he-goat, enclosed
in a spacious cage, horns through the streets to a huge platform in the square at the centre
of the town. This is a great tourist and commercial attraction and is attended by people from
all parts. For the duration of the event shops and business premises remain open
day and night."
