    Description

    Vintage Continental-sized (approx. 4x6) postcard with a view of Knappogue Castle
    in County Clare, Ireland, taken at night when lights illuminate the ramparts and crenellations.
    Front caption reads, "Knappogue Castle by night, Co. Clare, Ireland."
    Back caption reads, "KNAPPOGUE CASTLE, CO. CLARE:
    John Maccon McNamara (Lord Clancullen) built this historic castle
    about 1450. The 'Norman Keep' was later extended to form an elaborate
    edifice of Georgian and Regency periods. Knappogue was restored as a
    cultural centre and tourist attraction by the Andrews family, the owners;
    The Shannon Free Airport Development Co. and Bord Failte. Mediaeval
    Banquets and colourful Historical Pageants are presented at Knappogue
    nightly, May through October."
