Vintage colored postcard with a scene from the Vale of Avoca,where people gather near
the "Meeting of the Waters", made famous in
a poem by Thomas Moore, partially included on the card.
Front text reads,
"Meeting of the Waters,
AVOCA
IRELAND
SWEET VALE OF AVOCA,
HOW CALM COULD I REST
IN THY BOSOM OF SHADE
WITH THE FRIENDS I LOVE BEST,
WHERE THE STORMS THAT WE FEEL
IN THIS COLD WORLD SHOULD CEASE,
AND OUR HEARTS, LIKE THY WATERS,
BE MINGLED IN PEACE.
Thomas Moore".

Split back; unposted but with an inked date and name in lower left, address side: "Aug '82 Ben".
