Description
Vintage Continental-sized (approx. 4x6") color postcard of a processional statueof Mary from the
Knock Shrine in County Mayo, a Marian shrine in the West of Ireland,
where the Virgin Mary appeared to a young woman in 1879.

"Processional Statue of Our Lady Queen of Knock".
Back caption reads,
"I PRAYED FOR YOU AT KNOCK"
and
"KNOCK SHRINE, CO. MAYO: On 21st August 1879, Our Lady,
St. Joseph and St. John with the Altar the Lamb and the Cross appeared
at the Church Gable in a blaze of heavenly light. A Diocesan Commission
accepted the evidence as 'trustworthy and satisfactory'. Many privileges
have been granted by the Holy See and Knock is recognised as one of the great
Marian Shrines. Over a million pilgrims and invalids come to the Shrine annually
from all over the world, including His Holiness Pope John Paul II who visited
