    Description

Vintage Continental-sized (approx. 4x6") color postcard showing the Puck Fair in Killorglin,
in County Kerry, Ireland, with the platform for King Puck (a goat) at right.
Front caption reads, "Puck Fair, Killorglin, Co. Kerry, Ireland".
    Back caption reads,
"PUCK FAIR, KILLORGLIN: Killorglin, market town and angling centre
on the Ring of Kerry, is famous for its annual Puck Fiar (Aonach an Phuic).
The feature of the Fair is the traditional merrymaking associated with the Puck,
a large, beribboned, white male goat. The Puck, hoisted to its lofty pedestal
on Gathering Day, the first day of the Fair, presides over the three day Fair
until the evening of Scattering Day, the third day of the Fair, when it is lowered
from its perch. Puck Fair is one of Kerry's oldest festivals and is held from August
    10th to the 12th."
