Vintage Continental-sized (approx. 4x6) chrome postcard showing the remains of Quin Abbey,a Norman castle-abbey in County Clare, Ireland.
Flowers border the abbey field.
Back caption in English reads, "QUIN ABBEY, CO. CLARE. Founded in 1402,
the Macnamaras incorporated the site's Anglo-Norman Castle's four keeps and walls
in its construction. The last Franciscan was buried here in 1820."
Caption in Gaeilge (Irish language) reads,
"MAINISTEAR CHUINN, CO. an CHLAIR. Bunáiodh é in 1402.
Nuair a bhíddar á thógáil d' usáid Muintir Mhic Chon Mara na ceithre
daingin agus na fallaí a bhí ann ó aimsir na Normánach. An Manach Proinisiasach
deireannach a bhí ina chonaí anseo fuair sé bás agus cuireadh anseo é sa
bhlian 1820."

Split back; used, postmarked Baile na Cairrge but date illegible (1970s).

Arrived Safely, been met by my sister & two nieces. I'm having
a really nice whirlwind of a holiday. I've been on one tour.
Never realized before that the country side is dotted with historic
