Description
Vintage Continental-sized (approx 4x6") color postcard with a view of Cobh, the Cove of Cork, Ireland, circa 1960s.Formerly known as Queenstown, Cobh was the last port of call for the Titanic before it headed across the Atlantic.
Front caption reads, "St. Colman's Cathedral, the Park and Waterfront, Cobh, Co. Cork, Ireland".
Back caption reads,
"ST. COLMAN'S CATHEDRAL and WATERFRONT, COBH, CO. CORK:
Situated in Cork Harbour, on the south side of Great Island, 15 miles from Cork City,
Cobh is an internationally famous port and renowned yachting centre. The Royal Cork
Yacht Club, founded in 1720 and the oldest in the world, has its headquarters at Cobh.
The towering St. Colman's Cathedral dominates the town and harbour. Constructed
in the French Gothic style, with an exterior of blue Dalkey granite, it has a carillon of
47 bells, the largest in the British Isles. The John F. Kennedy Memorial Park
is sited by the seafront."

We had a good trip over, and have now caught up on some sleep.
Paul seems to be improving by the mile. Our Hotel is very comfortable
and the food is great. Now we are ready to tour the town of Limerick.
Love from us both."
