Description
Vintage Continental-sized (approx. 4x6") chrome postcard showing the steep cliffs of Moheron the Atlantic Coast in County Clare, Ireland.
Front caption reads, "The Cliffs of Moher, Co. Clare, Ireland".
Back caption reads,
"THE CLIFFS OF MOHER, CO. CLARE: In the heart of some of the finest
coastal and cliff scenery in the West of Ireland, the Cliffs of Moher rise sheer from
the Atlantic. Rising to 668 feet above the Atlantic at their highest point, the Cliffs
take their name from an ancient promontory fort, Mothair, which stood on Hag's Head
until removed in the last century. The usual viewpoint for visitors is O'Brien's Tower,
from where a magnificent view can be had of the Cliffs to the south, and to the northwest
the Aran Islands and the mouth of Galway Bay."
